By far the best vacation property available in Monterey/Pacific Grove. We all loved the backyard with the fire pit and jacuzzi.

Perfect for a group of many years college friends. Everything works and the house has charm and room for a very comfortable 6-8. Love the eat-in kitchen and sitting around the fire pit yakking!

My friends and I stayed here during a three day wine tour of the Monterey area and the lodging portion was made easy for us. Mary has a great team working with her to keep the place spotless and Liane did an excellent job of meeting me to exchange keys and information. The house is in a quiet neighborhood that was close to Pacific Grove's downtown area, the aquarium, and the road to Carmel. Everything in the house worked and we wanted for nothing in the way of utensils, linens, towels, and all the necessaries. I hope we find a place like this every time we go on our annual wine trip.

We had a 3 generation reunion, with grandma down to an almost 2 year old. Terrific location - walking distance to the bike/walk path, coffee shops, book store, and a park. Easy drive to aquarium. We used the hot tub, fire pit, grill, and fireplace. We had dinners as a group in the formal dinning room. All great. Two suggestions I passed on to the owner: door handle in upstairs bedroom off common room needs replacing (fell off first day), and rooms could use black out shades or curtains. We ended up rigging up towels and sheets to hang from the curtain rods. Would recommend, would stay again.

This surprisingly large house is perfect for families, with plenty of rooms, lots of common space, and a wonderful yard. My wife and our three children, their spouses, and their children all spent a delightful week here. Close to town and the bay by foot, and an easy drive to the many other local sites. We have already made reservations for next summer!

We truly enjoyed our stay. The home was large with comfortable furnishing and a well appointed kitchen. The outdoor firepit and hot tub were perfect for the cooler evenings. Close to great restaurants, shopping, and many attractions.

We rented this house while we were in town for our daughter's wedding. Both our families fit perfectly in the amount of rooms and beds. Even though we had 10 people staying at the house, it was more than enough space for everyone to relax and hang out. The house came with everything (and more) that we needed for the weekend! We would definitely stay here again and recommend the house to others. Also the property owner and house manager were fantastic and very helpful!

We rented this home for a family celebration (surprise birthday) and Passover meal. Mary, the owner, and Brenda, the welcomer, answered my various questions regarding the property as I had a number of requests to make everything work out well. The logistics and their responsiveness was great as was the location to the water, stores/restaurants, and the aquarium. There was plenty of room in the house for all and everybody enjoyed their stay.

Staying in Mary's place was like staying at your grandmother's house -- but even better! The house is so cute and quaint. It is truly a special place as this is where they raised their family. Seeing remnants of them raising children here -- like the height measurements on the door frame inside the pantry, and the photos of their family -- made us realize that we were in a very special place. All 9 of us enjoyed breakfast around the big round table in the kitchen every morning. We enjoyed sitting in the front room, and watching movies upstairs. The fresh cut flowers on the table just made things even more beautiful. There are some quirks with the house like waiting for the hot water before showering -- but it was built in 1896 -- so what do you expect? We never felt like we were sacrificing. It was truly a wonderful stay! If you want a very memorable vacation in a unique and charming home -- then look no further. Also we loved walking to Lovers Point, the Grove Market, and Pavel's Bakery (amazing pastries!!!) You really can't beat the location.

This house was perfect for our group of 10 women in town for our high school reunion. Very clean, great location with walking distance to the ocean & local restaurants. 5 bedrooms slept 10 comfortably. We were greeted & walked through the entire house - very excellent hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we will be back!

Matthew J.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house has so much character and our host made us feel at home and even took care to return some items we accidentally left behind. The house has so much history, especially the group of family photos throughout the years. Would definitely stay here again.
