Walking distance to restaurants, supermarket, seafood, bars, gas stations, beaches. Bellingrath Gardens nearby as well as Fort Morgan furniture and Fort Morgan and Gulf Shores a ferry ride away. Dauphin Island is known for its laid back charm and deserted beaches, clean as well as world class fishing. We are home to the largest deep sea fishing rodeo in the world.

Shabby chic + Mayberry RFD with a splash of whimsy = a vacation on the established side of Dauphin Island. My daughter and I spent a weekend here having never visited the Alabama coast. The cottage is comfortable and charming, and centrally located on a quiet street on the island. We drove to the west end to enjoy the beaches there, but for the rest of our exploring used the two bicycles provided with the house - touring the Audubon preserve, shell mound, estuarium, fort and stopped on the way back to pick up steamed shrimp at Skinners. Most of our time at the cottage we spent reading on the front porch, listening to roosters crow, birds sing and watching the big action of a dog sunning himself for hours in the middle of the street. We will be back!
Perfect way to spend time on the island. This rental has everything you need to relax and refresh. My family had a great time and enjoyed watching the cats next door napping in the wild flowers. See you next year.
